O luto: o papel da fonoaudiologia no contexto da díade com um bebê não idealizado

Abstract

We understand that the speech therapist work, in practices of puericulture can lead to an important part in the health promotion to relationship of mother and child. Beyond this explanation, our work had the objective to verify and to understand the effect of this practice to bring benefits to the relation mother-child, through a welcoming bond with the mother, making this an important condition to the child enter through the symbolic and enter in the language process. We worked with mothers that were going through some problems related to the relation motherchild, and visited theirs houses, so that we could work together with them, creating a bond through the concept of “maternal function”. Winter (2004, p. 60) believes that “working with maternal function is avoids a psycho disaster”. With the concepts of mourning and melancholia (FREUD, 1915) we did readings of not favorable conditions between maternal function. Two case studies were realized with mothers and theirs first child, Silvia and Vitória, both whose were in a melancholy state, having the maternity as a loss, as much in the real as in the imaginary. In this state, the mother experiments this maternal function without the libidinal investment, which can lead to some psychological damage to the child as well as the language process. In one of the mothers, this damage was captured again, making her look in a different way at her child, in a way that it would be a relationship that would show a pleasure in the “maternal function”. In the other case study it was not possible to realize it, because the grandmother did not allow it to happen. We concluded that working with the mother (which are affected by the relation mother-child) in anyway should happen since the beginning of this conflict. With this, the participation of speech therapy, in this puericulture practices and pregnant women group can be better perceived if we include the psychological dimension of the relationship between mother-child discussed in this work
